August began with a judging appointment at Osmotherley Show. I had a really enjoyable morning judging some lovely Mountain and Moorland ponies. On the afternoon, I competed in the dog show with Dusty and we gained a 3rd in the terrier class.
On 8th August, I took Talisker Bow Bells to dressage at Northallerton EC. He won his class again, making it a total of 5 reds for him this summer in his first season under saddle. In the same weekend, I was delighted to hear that Paul Langrick qualified his fourth team member for HOYS in the racehorse to riding horse class! Well done, Paul! Go Team Langrick!
I have also enjoyed spending my summer holiday breaking in Fell pony Castle Hill May for one of my best friends. She has been a really sweetheart to do!
On 12th May, I sat my trailer test. I was very nervous and have not experienced such shaky legs before! I did pass and will be saving for a trailer for next year now.
I was really pleased to see that Bow got a lovely little write up in Native pony Magazine - please see his article on my 'Magazine and Newspaper articles' page, which I recently updated.
On 22nd August, I headed to York Races for Ebor day. We had a lovely day... photos to follow. It was funny to get a picture text from my friend Chantal when at the races of former Ebor winner Purple Moon watching the racing on TV - great picture!
On 23rd August, I took Bow to Saltburn Riding School's unaffiliated dressage to compete at Intro b. He finished 4th out of 17 scoring 67.3%. I did feel that it was his best test to date despite it not being his best score to date and I am really pleased with the progress he made this time.
On 29th August, I headed to Wensleydale Show to judge the ROR classes alongside co-judge Rosemary Hetherington. It was lovely to ride judge and a super show to judge at.
