About Samantha Osborne...
'I began riding at six years old, at a local riding school, where I later stabled my first pony Spice. Spice taught me everything a first pony should teach: how to avoid a set of teeth when girthing up; how to somersault spectacularly when stopping sharply at a fence and how to trick a pony to come in to be ridden when the spring grass tastes much better than a snaffle bit!
When Spice was outgrown, I advanced on to newly broken yellow dun Highland mare Goldcrest of Dykes (Dixie), who was in time successful on the local showing circuit and was responsible for giving me the showing bug. I sadly lost Dixie, aged 18, in 2010 but I continued to show and ride for various teams including The Emmersons' Show Team.
Over the years, I have been fortunate to qualify for and ride at Royal International Horse Show and Horse of the Year Show on several horses in a variety of classes. Some of my fondest memories are with Deards Blue Print, Time Out (who was my debut HOYS ride) and Stevey's Lad, who was placed at HOYS in 2012 and 2013 in the Racehorse to Riding Horse class. I have also enjoyed supporting my local affiliated events and a range of championship shows with my own horses.
I have also been fortunate to experience a wide range of 'bucket list' equestrian experiences, including riding and getting placed in a charity flat race, passing numerous affiliated judging panel assessments and judging at a range of shows, competing side saddle at The Great Yorkshire Show and competing in the main ring at Royal Dublin Horse Show. I have also received great support from a range of companies who have sponsored me or selected me as a brand ambassador. In 2013, I won the Equilibrium Rising Stars £1000 sponsorship competition and in 2014 I won the BETA TSM International Sponsored Rider Award. In 2019, I was selected as the winner of the 2019 Amy Griffiths Photography Sponsored Rider Search. In the same season, my retrained racehorse, Stilo Blue Native, won the ROR Heart Throb Heart Award too. I really enjoyed working closely with these brands and so I decided to explore social media influencing.
I am currently based in Northallerton, North Yorkshire and enjoy competing across a range of disciplines but my passion and main focus in British Showjumping. My motto is to put the horse first and the sport second. I aim to build one to one relationships based on trust and clear communication and I always place horse husbandry and equestrian welfare at the top of my priority list. I am a qualified Equine Behavioural Therapist, freelance equestrian writer, judge and equestrian micro influencer. To work with me, visit my contact page.'
